  • The Root ID uniquely identifies a specific Submission file. Each new version of an submission has a new id root. The id root is a Globally Unique Identifier (GUID). A GUID is a string of numbers and lower case letters generated using a specifically defined mathematical algorithm to ensure a very low probability of identical GUID used in the same system. An example is: 9aa9d2e6-6982-48e5-831d-dbe7c04a14ed.
